I have had many golf lessons with various coaches since taking up the game seriously 20 years ago. In this time my handicap has come down from 28 to 6. I have had 3 lessons with Steve and I have been very impressed with him and the way he teaches. He keeps things very simple with easy to understand instructions.
He works at your pace but expects you to work hard thus making improvements in your game. He works on your game's strengths in order to improve weaknesses. My game is on the up and I am looking forward to my handicap coming down even further.
Andy Hobday - Handicap 6
Having had lessons with other pros and my handicap not getting any lower than 26, I booked a series of 6 lessons with Steve in June. I am halfway through that series of lessons, in that time my handicap has been cut to 23 after posting a net 64 in the monthly medal, I am in the final of a singles competition and on a golf tour to Le Touquet I finished second by 1 shot despite having to play off 18 (a man's handicap apparently!) Steve has changed my entire focus on golf, he has changed my stance, grip and swing and I am already benefitting hugely from his teaching.
Because he breaks it down in to component parts i can go away and have productive practice sessions rather than just the usual bash bash bash. I am really eager to book in my final three lessons as I want to be playing off 18 by the end of the year. Thank you Steve, I have always enjoyed my golf but now I cant wait to get out and play.
Richard Fitzpatrick - Handicap 23
I joined Weybrook Park in December 2004, after a 10 year gap from golf owing to work etc. I had previously been a member at Tylney Park where I played to a 16 handicap. I reestablished my handicap at Weybrook, at 22. Upon retirement from the oil Industry in 2007, I joined the Seniors section and managed to get the H/C down to 20. Then early in 2009, I sustained a serious knee injury, ending up having a total knee replacement in Nov 2009. It was probably best part of a year before I was fit enough to play 18 holes again.
I hesitate to blame the knee, but since then my H/C has gradually increased to 25 much to my embarrassment. I first approached Steve about 6 weeks ago to ask if he could run the rule over my clubs and me, reference alignment etc. I have had two sessions with Steve with one to go before a decision is made ref the clubs, however the realignment that he has done with my swing, is already showing good results, especially with my irons. I found Steve to have a very pleasant personality, and easy to talk to, and to work with. My ambition is to get my handicap back to at least 20, and I feel that with Steves help, I should be able to achieve this.
